This role is a key advisor and strategic partner to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and acts as an operational linchpin and strategic facilitator within PEx and across Zoox. You will assist the CPO in thinking through issues, initiatives and policies and drive implementation. You will be the eyes and ears of the CPO to anticipate problems and be sensitive to issues that require diplomacy and cross functional partnership. As a representative of the CPO, you need to influence without authority and demonstrate humility, discretion, maturity, and situational sensitivity.

In this role, you will...

  • Partner with the Chief People Officer’s (CPO) Executive Assistant to collaboratively ensure her calendar is organized and aligned with the Zoox and PEx priorities
  • Manage agenda and content preparation for PEx Meet, xPEx Meet, PEx Manager, PEx strategic planning meetings and other PEx-specific forums including agenda and content preparation, tracking action items and necessary follow up
  • Coordinate production of the CPO’s content and presentations for x/xxMeet and other forums.
  • Support PEx team and Zoox cross-functional communication and collaboration
  • Drafting PEx internal communications and partnering with Zoox’s Communications team on Zoox internal and external communications
  • Help manage the CPO’s brand
  • Understanding and reporting on business unit operations: weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly reporting
  • Track/forecast budget and headcount; develop annual budgets in collaboration with PEx Meet
  • Assess inquiries directed to the CPO, determine priority and the proper course of action including triaging incoming requests for the CPO’s time and work collaboratively with the CPO’s Executive Assistant to ensure her calendar is aligned with the priorities of the organization
  • Running and improving the organization (or department) “operating system”: quarterly and yearly planning via OKRs, offsites, etc
  • Assisting with cross-functional strategic matters: M&A analysis/integrations, strategy research, international expansion, etc
  • Manage key relationships and build a process to track and nurture key stakeholders
  • Track high priority initiatives for the CPO to identify and mitigate potential obstacles and risks
  • Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to the CPO, standing in on meetings, challenging ideas and offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the team accordingly
  • Provide analysis, recommendations, and options to the CPO regarding high impact decisions
  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives, facilitate special projects, and ensure action items are executed on behalf of the CPO
  • Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, handling the oversight of projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between departments or leadership areas of responsibility
  • Proactively follow up with the CPO’s team if and when goals are not being achieved to determine why objectives are not being met. Provide actionable recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience in managing a center of excellence team, an operations function or technical program preferably Human Resources-related.
  • Experience engaging and collaborating with senior leaders including C- Suite executives.
  • Highly organized and excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and workflows on deadline.
  • Strong track record managing complex cross-functional projects.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Suite. Experience with HR systems and tools a plus (Workday, Lever, VNDLY, LMS).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Working experience in the automotive industry or the autonomous driving technology industry.
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $224,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
