Zoox is looking for software engineers to build the tools that power our autonomous ride sharing service. Our Operational Tools Team is a crucial part of Zoox’s mission to deliver autonomous ride-hailing to the world.

Our Operational Tools are essential for the safe and effective use of our ever-growing fleet of autonomous robotaxis. As an engineer on the team, you will collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers and remote operators to build full stack web applications to monitor and support our fleet at scale, provide in-vehicle visualization systems and provide live ride support to our growing rider base.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly scalable and reliable web applications to support Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams, PMs, designers and remote operators to build new features
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, performing code reviews and promoting best practices

Qualifications

  • Solid foundations in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS
  • Solid understanding of web technologies
  • Experience with a Front End UI Framework (e.g. Vue, React, Svelte)
  • Ability to design and architect large scale web applications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate consistently
  • 8+ years of experience in software development

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Python or C++
  • Experience with 3D graphics, especially in a web context.
  • Familiarity with robotics and 3D spatial reasoning.
Compensation:
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $203,000 to $290,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
