As a Homologation Engineer, you will gain exposure to every part of the vehicle and how it works. You will have the opportunity to be part of a team that is responsible for assuring that our ground-up autonomous vehicles meet the federal and state regulations. Achieving this requires continuous problem-solving and creativity to navigate the regulations at both the federal and state levels. This role will be on-site in Foster City, California and you will be joining a high-performing, lean team.
In this role, you will:
- Support the delivery of compliance documentation for State vehicle codes and autonomous vehicle permit requirements
- Collaborate with hardware, feature, policy,and legal teams to deliver solutions to support State AV permit requirements
- Research State vehicle codes that may impact vehicle design, and work with the Policy team to drive updates to the vehicle code
- Assist with homologation evaluations for non-robotaxi Zoox vehicles
- Help manage documentation and tracking for FMVSS, EPA, CARB, and FCC delivery
- Review and verify engineering changes that could affect homologation, and participate in change request processes
- Support homologation test planning and issue resolution during vehicle launch phases.
- Participate in internal quality audits focused on FMVSS compliance criteria
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a related field of study
- Prior internship experience in vehicle engineering, aerospace engineering, medical device design, and/or testing
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working within a small, cross‑functional team
