Zoox is hiring software engineers to build the tools that power our autonomous ride-hailing service. The Operational Tools team plays a critical role in bringing Zoox’s vision of autonomous mobility to life.

Our Operational Tools enable the safe, reliable, and scalable operation of Zoox’s growing fleet of autonomous robotaxis. As a member of the team, you’ll work closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and remote operators to develop full-stack web applications that support fleet monitoring and operations at scale. You’ll also help build in-vehicle visualization systems and real-time rider support tools that directly shape the customer experience.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex, cross-functional problems, working across domains, and building innovative systems with visible, real-world impact.
In this role you will:
Design and implement highly scalable and reliable web applications to support Zoox's autonomous robotaxi service under the supervision of more senior engineers
Collaborate with software engineering teams, PMs, designers to build new features.
Collaborate with experienced engineers to enhance existing software systems by optimizing latency, CPU/memory usage, and database queries.
Have the chance to grow into a Senior Engineer with the support of your manager, mentor and team members.
Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, or Python.
- Experience building applications with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Svelte) and/or backend web frameworks (e.g. Flask, FastAPI).
- Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and user experiences.
Bonus Qualifications:
Proficiency in a low-level language such as Java, Kotlin, C, C++, or Rust.
Familiarity with low-level Linux system protocols, firmware, and ECUs.
Experience developing tools that support operations.
