Overview:

You will work with senior machinists, tool makers and engineering teams to run prototype parts, develop tools, perform CNC machining operations, and roll out short run production parts to rapidly convert design ideas into prototypes.

Responsibilities:

  • Use geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge to machine prototype parts, tooling and molds based on desired final part geometries

  • CNC Milling, Turning and Mill-Turn equipment programming editing

  • Machine prototype aerospace parts, short-run machined parts, tooling, and fixturing

  • Perform manual milling and turning

  • Provide Design for Manufacturability feedback for prototype parts

  • Perform spur of the moment machining adjustments to achieve desired outcomes in a fast-moving environment

  • Assist with machine setup and commissioning, and routine maintenance

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in machining, with a focus on aerospace or high-precision components. (Preference for 5-axis experience)

  • Knowledge of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, HyperMill, Esprit) and 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Catia)

  • Understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC program editing (Preference for CNC programming skills and experience)

  • Strong GD&T knowledge, understanding blueprints, and basic materials knowledge

  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)

  • Preferred experience: machining injection mold tooling, prototype aerospace parts, fast paced engineering environment
