Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies make rockets, jets, and satellites 10x faster and 2x cheaper. Our CEO, Chris Power, discusses the importance of what we're building in this video.

We are a lean but mighty team (and growing!) people that are passionate about building critical infrastructure to support the nation and the advancement of humanity.

We've raised >$200m to achieve this vision, with multiple rounds from Lux Capital, A16Z, Founders Fund, Construct Capital, Caffeinated Capital and more.

We use AI and Robotics to automate and scale factories that are globally cost competitive and future-proof from the dramatic skilled labor shortage that is facing the Advanced Industrial Base.

Hadrian works with startups, Primes and Tier 1/2s in all markets to cost-down, scale or otherwise enable them to hit production rates on critical programs in Rocketry, Satellites, Shipbuilding, Commercial and Military aircraft and other core, mission critical industries.

Director of Facilities Infrastructure

As we scale to support the rapid expansion of U.S. manufacturing, we’re looking for a hands-on Director of Facilities Infrastructure to build and lead a world-class facilities and maintenance organization.

This role is responsible for all maintenance operations across our growing footprint of high-throughput aerospace factories — ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving uptime across hundreds of CNC machines and other critical infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for both strategic planning and tactical execution, building a proactive maintenance culture that acts as a customer service engine to our production teams.

We're looking for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment and can scale systems, teams, and processes in parallel.

Why This Role Matters

Hadrian’s next production facility opens at the end of 2025 with 120+ machine tools — and this role will be foundational in supporting that scale. If you're excited about building the systems that power American industrial resurgence and thrive at the intersection of leadership and execution, we’d love to meet you. This role is responsible for uptime of the entire system, including vendor management and the integrations with our proprietary systems.

What You’ll Do

Leadership & Strategy

  • Build and lead a high-performing, strategic, multi-site maintenance team

  • Own maintenance strategy across all factories: including preventative maintenance and long-range asset planning.

  • Establish clear KPIs and accountability for uptime, responsiveness, and PM execution.

  • Define headcount and budget planning for maintenance and facilities functions.

  • Instill a strong customer-service mindset and culture of urgency within the team.

Preventative & Predictive Maintenance

  • Implement and standardize preventative maintenance (PM) programs across all sites, using real-time data.

  • Monitor asset performance, schedule maintenance, and analyze trends for predictive maintenance opportunities.

  • Partner with production and workforce development teams to standardize common maintenance/error response activities and embed in the production technician workflow.

Downtime Response & Root Cause Analysis

  • Own communication and escalation protocols for equipment downtime.

  • Create structured communication cadences, including daily check-ins with site teams, weekly maintenance status updates, and monthly KPI reporting to leadership.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action plans to address recurring equipment failures.

  • Continuously analyze downtime data to drive process and equipment improvements.

  • Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to align maintenance with operational priorities.

Vendor Management & Asset Planning

  • Build strategic relationships with service providers and OEMs to reduce response times and parts lead times.

  • Negotiate service contracts and lead critical spares planning to control cost

  • Contribute to capital planning — including asset lifecycle, upgrades, and tooling needs.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all maintenance activities meet aerospace and safety regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and implement process improvements that improve uptime and reduce cost.

  • Own safety outcomes and audit readiness for maintenance and facility-related activities.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing maintenance or facilities operations.

  • Track record of scaling high-performing technical teams

  • Strong understanding of CNC machinery, mechanical systems, and automation controls.

  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defense, or medical devices.

  • Hands-on approach to problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.

Benefits:

• 100% coverage of platinum medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees

• 401k

• Relocation stipend if you’re moving from outside of LA

• Flexible vacation policy
