Hadrian – Manufacturing the Future
Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.
We recently raised $260 million dollar Series C to accelerate this mission. We are excited to be launching a new Factory in Mesa, Arizona, a 270,000 square foot facility that will create 350 new jobs immediately. We are opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to serve naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.
Hadrian works with startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense contractors across space, shipbuilding, and aviation to scale production, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery on mission-critical programs. We are backed by leading investors including Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our fast-growing team is united by a shared mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond!
The Role
You will lead a team of world-class CAM programmers responsible for executing complex part manufacturing across Hadrian’s advanced machining operations. You’ll be at the center of our production ecosystem—owning the most challenging parts of the process and driving solutions that define how Hadrian builds precision components at scale.
When the factory encounters a difficult part or an impossible tolerance, you’re the one people turn to. You’ll partner with every team—Applications, Go-To-Market, Quality, and Operations—to diagnose issues, provide solutions, and continuously improve our systems. This is a pivotal role for a hands-on technical leader passionate about machining excellence, process optimization, and system-level innovation.
The ideal candidate has an analytical mindset, thrives on solving complex manufacturing problems, and leads with integrity, communication, and collaboration.
What You’ll Do
Lead with Impact: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of process engineers and CAM programmers. Represent the CAM Execution team across the organization, sharing wins, lessons, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Own Problem Solving: Step in when parts or features seem impossible to bring into tolerance. Collaborate across teams to identify root causes and implement robust, data-driven solutions. Use these learnings to educate upstream processes and mature process design/standard approaches.
Drive System Improvement: Contribute directly to Hadrian’s evolving manufacturing systems. Help design, refine, and optimize workflows and software tools that eliminate errors and increase efficiency.
Communicate Effectively: Present findings, propose improvements, and ensure alignment across technical and leadership teams. Communicate clearly up, down, and across the organization—including regular updates at company-wide meetings.
Ensure Quality and Execution: Oversee process consistency, accuracy, and throughput across part manufacturing—from programming through inspection and validation.
What We're Looking For
Proven Leadership: Experience managing high-performing technical teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Hands-on leader who is execution focused and unafraid to jump in where needed.
Expert Problem Solver: Deep understanding of metal removal, GD&T, and the relationship between process design and part structure. You thrive on solving the “unsolvable.”
-
Machining Expertise:
5+ years of CAM programming for 5-axis milling machines
10+ years in a high-volume, precision manufacturing environment
Full ownership of the end-to-end machining process—from programming to part validation
-
Software Proficiency:
5+ years using advanced CNC and CAD/CAM software
Strong general PC and system literacy
Exceptional Communicator: Clear and persuasive in written, verbal, and technical communication. Skilled at influencing and aligning cross-functional teams. Ability to analyze and distill data into actionable focus areas.
What Will Set You Apart
Experience with hyperMILL, Heidenhain, Fanuc, and NX
Background in CMM programming, manual inspection, systems engineering, or manufacturing engineering
Familiarity with automation and computer programming concepts
Experience in machine setup, operation, or process development
Compensation
For this role, the target salary range is $140,000 - $225,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
