Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian is building autonomous factories that help aerospace and defense companies manufacture rockets, satellites, jets, and ships up to 10x faster and up to 2x cheaper. By combining advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we are reinventing how America produces its most critical parts.

We recently raised $260 million dollar Series C to accelerate this mission. We are excited to be launching a new Factory in Mesa, Arizona, a 270,000 square foot facility that will create 350 new jobs immediately. We are opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, launching Hadrian Maritime to serve naval production, and introducing a Factory-as-a-Service model that delivers complete systems instead of individual parts.

Hadrian works with startups, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense contractors across space, shipbuilding, and aviation to scale production, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery on mission-critical programs. We are backed by leading investors including Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our fast-growing team is united by a shared mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond!

The Role

You will lead a team of world-class CAM programmers responsible for generating complex part programs from scratch for all of Hadrian’s machining factories. You’ll be at the center of our production ecosystem—owning the first phase of the manufacturing process and driving scalable build plans that define how Hadrian builds. As Hadrian scales to multiple factories, CAM Generation becomes the anchor for consistent programming standards, predictable process quality, and fast, reliable part launches across its entire network of factories. This is a pivotal role for a hands-on leader passionate about machining excellence, and system-level innovation.

You will guide a team of programmers through fast-paced triage, technical decision making, and system improvement work that shapes the first phase of Hadrian’s manufacturing process at scale. You do not need to be the deepest CAM expert, but you do need strong technical judgment, clear operational leadership, and the ability to bring structure to complex work. This is a hands-on leadership role where you build a healthy team, raise the bar on execution, and help design the systems that support every current and future factory.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead with Impact: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of Process Engineers and CAM programmers. Represent the CAM Generation team across the organization, sharing wins, lessons, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Own Centralized CAM Generation Across All Factories: Manage and coach a team of CAM programmers by setting clear expectations, building consistent rhythms, supporting career growth, and fostering a focused environment where programmers can do their best work.

  • Drive System Improvement: Strengthen CAM standards, rulesets, automation inputs, tooling assumptions, and internal workflows. Use feedback from prove outs and downstream issues to drive cleaner, more consistent programming practices across the network.

  • Communicate Effectively: Coordinate closely with Customer Operations, CAM Execution, Applications, Factory Operations, and Automation. Keep communication tight, surface risks early, and ensure programming changes are rolled out cleanly across all factories.

  • Manufacturing Automation Partnership: Incorporate new tooling, materials, workholding, and strategies in partnership with the team that develops new applications. You will provide feedback and ensure these new applications are production ready.

What We’re Looking For

Proven Leadership: Experience managing high-performing technical teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Hands-on leader who is process focused and takes ownership on issues. Experience in operations is a major plus as the role is responsible for scaling programming operation

Technical Judgement: A people-focused leader who creates clarity, sets direction, drives accountability through structure, and maintains high standards while supporting the team’s well-being.

Manufacturing Expertise: Experience in machining, CAM programming, or process engineering; background leading or mentoring technical teams; and familiarity with modern CAD/CAM tools and 5 axis machining environments.

Exceptional Communicator: A clear, concise communicator who builds alignment across teams, filters noise, flags issues early, and maintains consistency across factories.

• 5+ years in a high-volume, precision manufacturing environment

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience directly leading technical individuals and owning team performance.

• Demonstrated success scaling an engineering or programming functions across multiple sites or remote contributors.

• Experience with hyperMILL, Heidenhain, Fanuc, and NX

• Experience with 5 Axis Milling and Mill-turn

• Background in CMM programming, manual inspection, systems engineering, or manufacturing engineering

• Familiarity with automation and computer programming concepts

• Experience in machine setup, operation, or process development

Compensation

For this role, the target salary range is $140,000 - $225,000 actual range may vary based on experience).

This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Benefits

  • 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees

  • 401k

  • Relocation stipend if you’re moving from outside of LA

  • Flexible vacation policy
