About Multiply Labs
Multiply Labs is a cutting-edge startup based in San Francisco, California, supported by top-tier tech and life science investors such as Casdin Capital, Lux Capital, and Y Combinator. Our mission is to build the best robots in the world, and use them to make the most advanced life-saving therapies accessible to all.
We are revolutionizing the manufacturing of cell therapies by developing advanced robotic systems designed to automate and scale the production of these life-saving treatments. Our robots empower biopharma companies to produce cell therapies at scale without significantly changing their existing processes, reducing regulatory barriers and risks. While traditional approaches are time-consuming and lead to extremely high costs for patients (typically $1M+ per patient), using robotics can make these transformative treatments more accessible and affordable to patients in need.

Position Overview
We are seeking an innovative, highly motivated Chief Manufacturing & Supply Chain Officer to architect and scale the global supply chain for Multiply Labs’ robotic cell-therapy manufacturing platform – including both capital equipment and the consumable kits. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead supplier strategy, influence COGS and pricing, and ensure the reliability and scalability needed for commercial success. This role spans early supplier engagement through post-sale field support and will be foundational in bringing our technology from prototype to scaled commercial production.
Responsibilities: Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute Multiply Labs’ supply chain strategy across robots, consumables, and field-replaceable units, ensuring scalability from first-customer deployments through global commercialization.
- Act as the company’s executive supply chain leader, providing regular updates to the CEO and Board while guiding long-term supply chain strategy.
- Build and manage a network of domestic and international suppliers (US, EU, and APAC) aligned with our quality, cost, and capacity requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with supply chain and procurement teams at large customer accounts, including executive level stakeholders.
Responsibilities: Supplier Management & Procurement
- Lead supplier management activities ensuring quality, cost, timeline, and scalability requirements.
- Oversee supplier audits in partnership with Quality and Regulatory to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable regulations.
- Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, warranties, and terms and manage supplier agreements.
- Drive supplier selection processes and collaborate to develop projections for each supplier.
Responsibilities: Design Transfer & Production Readiness
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering to manage timely design transfer from R&D to production—including documentation, specifications, manufacturability, test strategy, and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate supplier input to engineering teams to ensure DFM, DFA, and cost targets during early design phases.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to develop build processes and manufacturing workflows.
Responsibilities: Pricing & COGs
- Partner with Finance, Product, and Leadership on pricing strategies.
- Own system-level COGS and consumable COGS targets; Develop plans to continuously improve margins.
Responsibilities: Service, Field Support, & Spare Parts
- Develop and manage the strategy for robot installation, service, field support, maintenance workflows, and spare-parts.
- Build and oversee the Service organization.
- Own robotic system warranty and service strategy for COTS and non-COTS parts, and negotiate warranty terms for integrated COTS parts.
Responsibilities: Supply Chain Systems & Infrastructure
- Implement and manage supply chain systems (e.g., ERP/MRP, purchasing workflows, inventory management).
- Establish processes for forecasting, inventory control, capacity planning, and demand management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- 10+ years of supply chain leadership experience in medical devices, robotics, aerospace, automotive, or similarly regulated, complex electromechanical industries.
- Proven experience taking hardware systems from prototype to scaled manufacturing (e.g. 100-1,000+ units/year), ideally with a BOM of 500-3,000+ parts and a mix of COTS and custom parts from many sources.
- Deep experience with design transfer, manufacturing readiness, and production ramp-ups.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams responsible for procurement, planning, production operations, and/or service/support.
- Strong understanding of supplier quality management and regulatory frameworks (e.g. ISO 13485, ISO 9001)
- Experience implementing and scaling ERP/MRP systems in fast-growing organizations
- Hands-on fluency in DFM/DFA principles
- Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling, scenario analysis, and budgeting
- Demonstrated experience scaling supply chains from scratch, including supplier capability evaluation, and owning the first-time commercialization of new products
- Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
